Meet Ishmael!
Meet 19-year-old Ishmael. Ishmael was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy; Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is a genetic disorder characterized by progressive muscle degeneration and weakness. Because of his illness, Ishmael’s mobility is limited and he is wheelchair bound.
Although faced with many obstacles, Ishmael is determined and good-spirited. He is currently a freshmen in college studying Sports Management. When it comes to football, the Dallas Cowboys are his favorite NFL team. He is also an NBA enthusiast, and is a big fan of LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers. When he isn’t studying for his classes, he enjoys playing video games; Madden and NBA LIVE are his go-to games.
Ishmael needs a bathroom modification in his home; he needs the door widened and the shower modified to a roll-in. These home improvements will make life much more accessible for him. Please help Ishmael achieve more freedom and accessibility in his day-to-day life!
