Meet Douglas!

Meet six-year-old Douglas. He was diagnosed with a mitochondrial disease that causes muscle weakness and low stamina.  He walks with assistance for short distances. His speech is limited to short sentences, and he is unable to speak loudly. Douglas does not let his limitations hinder his childhood.

Douglas enjoys a variety of fun activities. He attends first grade and learns his favorite subject, math. He also works hard exercising by swimming in the pool at his school. At home, Douglas likes watching the Philadelphia Eagles. His biggest passion, however, is anything related to trains. He loves locomotive models and play sets. He adores Thomas the Tank whether it’s a book, series or music. Douglas even has a huge grin whenever he visits a theme park dedicated to trains, called Strasburg Rail Way. This disabled boy found the right track towards happiness!

Douglas needs a ramp for his home. He is in the process of receiving a wheelchair. The ramp is important so Douglas can leave home more easily for school and family outings. Please be a sponsor for Douglas!
