Meet Giovanni!

 

 

9 year-old Giovanni has Spastic Quadriparesis and Cerebral Palsy.  Everyday activities are not possible for the child without help. He needs assistance in most daily living tasks.  He also has limited verbal speech. These frustrating trials do not define” Gio”. His family describes him as spectacular and fun!!

He loves listening to hip-hop and dance music. Turn up the volume of a great song and Giovanni bounces his shoulders to the rhythm. This spirited boy also likes lazy days in the swimming pool at his grandmother’s house. Put him in the pool and the refreshing water is just what he needs!! As day turns towards evening, Gio becomes sleepy. Bedtime includes reading his favorite story, Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax, while the tired boy cuddles with one of his Build-A-Bear characters. Clearly, Gio’s ruthless illness does not hamper his happy heart. That’s why he is spectacular!
