Meet Heidi!

 

Meet 2 1/2 year-old Heidi. This little ray of sunshine was diagnosed with a form of spinal muscular atrophy. The disease can harshly affect nerve cells, causing a variety of frustrations. None of these deter her from being a joyful child.

Heidi is described as clever and tenacious. She knows how to use her cuteness as an advantage, but she asks for very little and just wants to have fun. Heidi enjoys watching Curious George and listening to nursery rhymes. She also likes hearing a good book, especially the bedtime story Goodnight Moon. Considering what Heidi endures each day, giving her a bit of happiness is everyone’s pleasure.
