Meet Mattie!

Meet a 5 year-old girl named Mattie. She was born 9 weeks early and weighed merely 3 pounds. Doctors diagnosed her with cerebral palsy and they gave her a slim chance of survival. Four surgeries and 5 years later Mattie not only survived, but she thrives.

Mattie is an active girl. She has many favorite places to visit. She is a big Disney fan and going to the Magic Kingdom makes her eyes sparkle like Cinderella’s ball gown. Mattie and her family will be vacationing to Hollywood Studios where she is eager to meet the Disney character Moana. Usually she stays closer to home. The intelligent girl is more than happy to be at the library. She loves reading and never leaves without a pile of books. She is one of the best readers in kindergarten. Mattie also enjoys being outdoors. Playing on the swings is her favorite pastime at the park. The young girl began life with despair. She now flourishes without fear. She never wants to waste a moment.

Mattie needs an adaptive tricycle for exercise and fun. Please be a generous sponsor for her soon!

Mattie got her new adaptive tricycle at our Jail & Bail launch event. We got to witness the excitement of her ridding around for the first time on her new trike. She loved practicing going backwards and forward but especially loved shouting out: “Beep, beep! Move out of my way, I’m important!”

Enjoy your new trike Mattie and keep up the exercise!
