Dear Potential Felon,

Brad and Monica Culpepper invite you to participate in a fun, interactive fundraiser benefitting Wheelchairs 4 Kids, a 501 (c) (3) charity dedicated to improving the lives of children with physical disabilities by providing wheelchairs, ramps, and other assistive devices.  Brad and Monica have graciously agreed to serve as the honorary chairpersons of our Jail and Bail Fundraiser to be held on April 27th at the Taverna Opa in Channelside from 1 to 5 PM.   We are currently in the process of recruiting high profile Tampa Bay executives and personalities to participate in the event.  Please accept this invitation from Brad and Monica to play a part in the benefit as one of our VIP “felons”.  If you are not able to attend, we would appreciate it if you would suggest an alternate person to “do your time”.   Please RSVP at your earliest convenience to 727-946-0963.

Brad Culpepper was a starting defensive tackle for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 1994 to 1999, the Dungy years.  He was a media favorite with a great sense of humor and still often appears on local sports shows to share his expertise.  He is also recognized as one of Tampa Bay’s preeminent attorneys along with his partner, Brett Kurland. You may have seen them on the popular Culpepper Kurland commercials.  Monica is Brad’s wife of 20 years and is a graduate of The University of Florida.  She has a degree in Physical Therapy and is a contestant on the current season of Survivor.  You can learn more about Monica on her Survivor Fan page.

The Jail and Bail will consist of us “arresting”  prominent citizens in the Tampa Bay area for various charges such as insider trading (retired NFL players using connections to get ahead in Fantasy Football) to impersonating an actor (local business owners/lawyers appearing in commercials).  The sillier the crime, the better.     Of course, your charges and bail are negotiable!

As a jailbird, you will receive several copies of your “Wanted” poster as well as have a page on our website with your mug shot and charges.  You may send your friends to the webpage, where they can make a secure, online donation toward your bail in advance.  On April 27th, you will be picked up by the “police” and brought to the Taverna Opa in Channelside where you will appear before “Judge” Culpepper to answer to your charges.  Monica Culpepper will be our courtroom correspondent.  Bail will be set and you will be locked up in our “jail” wearing our “designer” prison garb for one hour.  During that time, you may raise your bail by calling on friends and colleagues.  I understand that the prison guards are notorious for sneaking in food and beverages!  Upon meeting your bail, you will be released with great fanfare complete with flying napkins and Greek dancing!  The event will be filmed for a web telecast on UNation.

Each jailbird will be furnished with an information packet which will include pledge sheets, hints and their “Wanted” posters.  They will also receive a link to their own webpage that they can share with their friends.

Many children in the United States faced with living with physical disabilities are in wheelchairs that are too small, in disrepair, or do not fit the needs of the child.  In addition, families are faced with trying to care for their special needs children in homes that have not been modified to meet their specific circumstances.  Children outgrow their wheelchairs before government or insurance programs will allow for a replacement.  Not only is it unsafe for a child to be in a chair that is inadequate for their needs, but it can impact their health in numerous ways including scoliosis, respiratory problems and pressure sores.   Wheelchairs 4 Kids is working hard to address this much neglected need.

You can learn more about our organization by visiting our website at www.wheelchairs4kids.org.   We also hope that you will become a fan of ourfacebook page.

Thank you so much for your consideration.  We do hope that you will consider our mission worthy of your support and our kids’ needs deserving of your participation.   If you have any questions, suggestions or comments, please don’t hesitate to contact us at 727-946-0963.  Please let us know of any other potential felons to contact!  Thanks and have a wonderful day!

Sincerely,

 Madeline Robinson
