Meet Mia!

Mia is described by her mother as the sweetest girl on earth! The 4-year-old little girl has Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type II and as a result endures many great challenges. She is unable to walk and has difficulty sitting upright. Mia, however, conquers her challenges by finding ways to make life fun.

Mia adores Disney princess characters. Her eyes shine brightly when watching Sleeping Beauty or Cinderella. Mia also likes outdoor activities, including going to the park and soaring high in the swing! Her favorite, though, is swimming in a pool. The cool water really relaxes and refreshes her body. Mia is not held down by her limitations and she loves trying new activities. Mia’s favorite song is from the movie “Frozen” and the lyrics describe her best, “It’s time to see what I can do. To test the limits and break through.”

Mia needs an ultra-lightweight manual wheelchair. An ultra-lightweight wheelchair is critical for Mia so that she can operate it and become more independent. Furthermore, the new wheelchair will allow her to go out more often as it is easy to transport. Please help Mia to see what she can do!
