Meet Denavi!
Meet 16-year-old Denavi! Denavi has a rare genetic disorder known as Phelan-McDermid Syndrome, which affects many critical functions in a person’s body. She is unable to sit or stand without assistance and requires a wheelchair. She has lower extremity hypotonia and weak bladder control with renal insufficiency.
Despite Denavi’s challenges, she is a very social and active little girl. Although she is non-verbal, she enjoys interacting with others, especially at school. She also loves to go to the mall, her local park, and her favorite place- Disney World! She enjoys watching her favorite movie, Frozen, and her favorite TV show, The Wiggles. Denavi is also a “Swifty” and likes to listen to music by her favorite artist, Taylor Swift. However, her favorite song since she was a little girl has always been “The Itsy-Bitsy Spider.” Denavi is very family oriented and enjoys spending quality time with those she loves. Her bright smile and fun personality are what makes her so loveable!
