Meet Isabel!
Meet 20-year-old Isabel. This young lady was born in Guatemala. She had clear signs of under development but was not getting the proper medical care she needed. She and her family eventually moved to the United States where Isabel was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. She needs assistance to stand and walk, but she can maneuver on the floor when she wants to be independent. Isabel is joyful despite her trials.
Isabel has several interests. She likes watching comedy shows and movies with Disney princesses. She attends school—her best subject is reading. She uses the internet to learn new things, too. Her hobbies are coloring and anything artistic. Isabel also has exceptional organizational skills-she loves to keep everything in order! She is best described as loving and helpful. She is always assisting her teachers, classmates, and mom. Meet Isabel. She has many challenges, but they are all overcome by the strength of her heart.
Isabel received a manual wheelchair with larger tires, and it also provided her more comfort. She lives on a dirt road and the tires will improve her independent mobility. Special thanks to the Suncoast Credit Union for sponsoring her amazing new chair! She was all smiles as she showed it off to her classmates!
