Meet Kevin, an energetic and courageous 8-year-old with a heart full of dreams.
Kevin has been diagnosed with Collagen VI-Related Muscular Dystrophy, a rare and progressive genetic condition that affects his muscles and connective tissue. It causes muscle weakness, joint stiffness, and problems with his hips and knees, making everyday movement and activities a real challenge. But Kevin doesn’t let that define him.
In the face of difficulty, Kevin shines with quiet strength. He greets each day with determination, resilience, and a smile that warms everyone around him. Surrounded by the love and support of his family, Kevin continues to fight with grace and an unbreakable spirit.
Kevin is full of life and curiosity. He loves music, especially Vacation by Dirty Heads, a song that perfectly captures his dream of freedom and fun. He’s a big fan of The Prince Family Clubhouse on YouTube and never tires of Disney classics, Shrek II, or his favorite superhero, Spider-Man. Kevin also enjoys cheering on the Lakers and watching basketball with enthusiasm that’s impossible not to catch.
Though peaceful and shy by nature, Kevin has a vibrant inner world. He dreams of one day writing his own book—a story only he can tell. His gentle presence inspires those around him, reminding us of the quiet, powerful beauty of perseverance.
Thanks to the generosity of Athletes Helping Athletes, Kevin has received his adaptive tricycle!
This special trike is more than just a tool for physical therapy—it’s given Kevin the freedom to explore, to ride alongside friends and family, and to feel the wind on his face like every kid deserves. It’s a doorway to independence, laughter, and hope.
Because of this gift, Kevin is now building strength, confidence, and unforgettable memories. Thank you, Athletes Helping Athletes, for helping Kevin ride toward his dreams!
