Meet Asher!
Meet 6-year-old Asher! Asher had complications at birth that led to his cerebral palsy diagnosis. He spent nearly 2 months in the NICU. He is unable to walk or talk, but is a very bright boy who uses an eye gaze machine to communicate. He is also at a high risk for seizures and recently had a Grand mal seizure which left him hospitalized.
Despite Asher’s diagnoses, he remains a sweet boy who enjoys classic Disney characters and TV shows, such as the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. The Lion King remains his favorite movie, and he is in awe of the beautiful animation and catchy songs. Asher enjoys outings to the movie theater and to his favorite theme park, Sea World, where he likes to observe the dolphins and play in the bubbles. Although Asher is non- verbal, he is very expressive and is always finding ways to show how he is feeling- whether he might be excited, sad, or opinionated on something- he will find a way to let you know!
