Meet Lucas!
Meet 11-year-old Lucas. Lucas suffered from infantile spasms when he was a baby, which led to his Lennox Gastaut diagnosis. When he was only two years old, he endured brain surgery. He is able to walk short distances with assistance, but has impairments with balance and endurance as well as weakness in his arms and hands.
Despite Lucas’ struggles, he remains determined and puts his heart into everything he does. He is humorous and likes to make others laugh. He is a fan of the long running children’s series, Sesame Street, and his particular favorite character is Grover the blue monster! Lucas adores the great outdoors! Whether he is riding his adaptive bike, swinging on the swings, or reading a book enjoying the fresh air, he is happiest when he is outside. Lucas finds the good in every situation and his sweet spirit is what makes him so special!
Lucas is in need of a lightweight tilt-in-space wheelchair. This chair will make transportation easier for his family so that he can continue to participate in events in his community. His current manual wheelchair is too heavy to transport. Please be his sponsor!
