Meet Ciara!
Meet 10-year-old Ciara! Ciara was diagnosed with cerebral hypoplasia and arthrogryposis and has endured several surgeries in her short life, including a hernia repair and a hamstring and knee lengthening surgery. While she is able to sit up on her own, she is unable to walk without assistance and utilizes a manual wheelchair. She is also prone to seizures, which usually occur in her sleep.
Ciara is a determined and fierce young lady, never letting her diagnoses stop her from achieving her goals! Ciara enjoys watching PBS kids shows such as “Rosie’s Rules”, and is a fan of the Disney/Pixar classic, Finding Nemo. She loves aquatic animals such as dolphins and whales. Calming instrumental music with soft violins soothe Ciara’s soul. For fun, Ciara likes to visit her local playground and play on the swings or slides. She also likes to frequent arcades where she admires the lights and sounds. Above all, Ciara is a loveable child with a heart of gold.
Ciara is in need of a therapy bike. This bike will help increase her range of motion, coordination, and fine and gross motor skills. The bike will also provide her with a sense of independence where she can interact with her peers. By being her sponsor, you can help change Ciara’s life!
