Meet 12-year-old Tammy. She was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that progressively leads to the loss of motor skills. Though Tammy faces many challenges, her beautiful smile brightens even the darkest of days.
Tammy has several interests that bring her joy. She has a special toy that lights up when her family squeezes it, and she enjoys watching LooLoo Kids when she isn’t cuddling with Mom while reading her favorite books. Tammy is a bright girl who loves going to school and is known for her peaceful, quiet nature. She especially enjoys spending time with puzzles on her eye-gaze device. Even though she prefers to remain in her own world, Tammy inspires everyone around her and truly makes our world a better place.
Right now, Tammy’s greatest need is a properly fitted wheelchair—one that will provide her with greater comfort and allow her to participate more fully in family activities and outings.
