Meet India!
Meet India! India is a very sweet and determined 3-year-old. She has been diagnosed with Pontine Tegmental Cap Dysplasia, a rare Brain condition, where she is 1 of 41 with the diagnosis Globally. Due to her diagnosis, she is also deaf so she may not be able to speak but she can “Speak” through Sign Language! She knows 50 signs currently and is learning more each day!
India can stand with AFO and Knee braces, but she is unable to walk. She can self-propel in her wheelchair and loves to be moving. India does not let her challenges hold her back from anything! She never gives up and is an inspiration to us all! Her physical therapist even calls her “The Poster Child of Physical Therapy” due to her endurance to keep going. India is very curious about everything. She enjoys playing with her kitchen center and “cutting” up the foods that are Velcro together. She also has a bowling set that she tries to strike out with! Her favorite places to go are the Aquarium and the Zoo; she loves ALL animals and even learned how to sign “Dog” and “Bird”.
India is in need of an adaptive tricycle to help teach her how to move her legs and build up her lower extremity strength in a fun way! It will also help her explore her environment in an age-appropriate way with her mother. Please be her sponsor.
