Meet Evan!

Meet 9-year-old Evan! Evan is a kind and loving young man who was diagnosed with Charcot-Marie-Tooth type 1B. He wears AFOs and can walk short distances but mostly relies on the use of a wheelchair. Recently, Evan had to have surgery on his hips and feet, and pins and screws were inserted. He lacks balance, coordination, and postural control.

Despite Evan’s struggles, he remains a personable and thoughtful boy who has several fun interests! Evan loves the WWE and his favorite wrestlers are the Uso Brothers. Evan is also a big Nascar fan, and you can find him routing for champion Kyle Busch. In Evan’s spare time, he likes to listen to 80s rock music, especially Billy Joel! He is a fan of Disney/Pixar movies, and his go-to movie of choice is The Incredibles. Much like the characters in the movie, Evan shares his strength and his spirit in a positive way, always putting others first!

Evan received an AirHawk, a lightweight power wheelchair. He currently has a heavy power chair, and as he continues to grow, it is harder to transport. A lightweight chair will give him more access to his community and a sense of independence. Special thanks to his sponsor the Saunders Foundation!
