Meet Ciandra!
Ciandra is a fourteen-year-old who was diagnosed with hereditary spastic paraplegia at age two. This condition has rendered Ciandra immobile without assistance of a wheelchair and non-verbal in her communication.
Ciandra’s idea of fun involves shopping at Burlington Coat Factory with her sister, Drecinia, playing with her makeup collection, scrolling TikTok and watching Korean romance movies or shows. She is particular in what she likes, so she wears black or gray since they go with anything. As for her favorite meal, she is simple-minded in that she will gladly eat her mother’s homemade avocado with rice over dining out at a fancy restaurant.
Ciandra needs a new wheelchair since she is continuing to grow. Her current wheelchair is unable to assist her with changes of medical status such as loss of head, neck, trunk and abdominal control.
