Meet Ryan!

Meet Ryan; a fun, brave, and quick-witted 13-Year-Old boy. Ryan was diagnosed with Glycogen Storage Disease Type 1X and Mitochondrial Disorder; and is currently testing for muscular dystrophy. Due to his diagnosis, his body does not have the enzyme to store energy so he fatigues easily, especially later in the day. Ryan uses a Wheelchair for mobility but does not let his diagnosis define him or hold him back!
Ryan loves to play PC Video Game- especially Hearts of Iron IV. He enjoys building Legos and collecting his previously built Star Wars Lego sets. He enjoys going to the pool with his family and recently trying soccer and badminton with his sister. You can frequently catch him in green, as it is his favorite color. He is constantly making jokes because he thoroughly enjoys making everyone smile and laugh.
Ryan was in need of a wheelchair lift for his vehicle to be able to go out and participate in his community and explore the world around him. He was previously unable to transport his power wheelchair, which left him unable to participate in family outings. Thanks to an anonymous donor, Wheelchairs 4 Kids has been able to assist Ryan’s family providing a Harmar vehicle lift for his wheelchair. The installation was donated and completed by Scooter Dudes Mobility. We cannot thank you guys enough for all of your help! Ryan’s mom let us know that as soon as the lift was installed, Ryan said “I can see the world now mommy”. Mom is so appreciative that she wrote us: “THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS!!!! We are so blessed and grateful for you! You gave our son new life!!”
