Meet 12-year-old Amerie! Amerie is diagnosed with Dandy Walker Syndrome – a congenital brain malformation that affects brain development and causes hydrocephalus. The condition causes motor delays and muscle tone issues.
Amerie loves the color purple and the books the Lion King and 100 Ants. She also enjoys listening to nursery rhymes. Her favorite food is white rice and she likes cheesecake flavored yogurt. Her all-time favorite activity is watching Popuko on TV – a Japanese anime comedy series.
