Meet 10-Year-Old Gia! Gia is resilient. She does not let her diagnosis of Chromosome 2Q36 define her. A deletion of chromosome 2Q36 is a rare genetic event that causes a range of developmental and physical issues.

Gia loves the colors lavender and turquoise. She enjoys watching babies on YouTube and likes listening to reggae music. Gia also loves the thrill of a good rollercoaster at an amusement park –she is constantly seeking things that appeal to her senses.

Gia aspires to own an adaptive tricycle to continue her adventures. The tricycle would also support Gia’s mobility and physical development and medical health. Gia currently relies on her use of the school’s equipment which does not properly fit her.

Update:

Thanks to The Burton Family Foundation, our wonderful sponsor, Gia now has a pink Rifton trike that she adores! Gia’s new-found confidence radiates from her as she pedals, and she is eager to explore the world around her.
