Wanted for:
Stalking with intent to book as many guests as possible for The Tampa Natives Show
Mario “El Tampeño Loco” Nuñez is wanted for stalking – with the intent to book as many guests as possible for The Tampa Natives Show. He’s been spotted obnoxiously pursuing potential guests to appear on his show and to share their personal stories. Everyone has a story; they are all worthy of telling (some a little more than others…), and he will not be denied the chance to capture them all!
Mario Nuñez is a 4th generation Tampeño. His great-grandfather was Lector during Ybor’s Golden Era. Nuñez is a youth baseball all-star, competitive amateur Jai Alai player, volunteer youth baseball coach, and Jefferson High School Alumni Hall of Fame Member. Mario was a career flight attendant for 30 years on American Airlines, and is the Creator and Host of The Tampa Natives Show, which he began 15 years ago, which also earned him a Telly Award. He also hosts The Conversation on WMNF Community Radio on Wednesdays. Nuñez was voted Creative Loafing’s Best of the Bay Best Native Son, and awarded the Adela Gonzmart Legacy Award for history preservation and community service. He’s been married for 46 years, has 2 sons and 2 granddaughters.
Help Mario raise funds for Wheelchairs 4 Kids, a nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of children with physical disabilities. Make a donation to his campaign to help this criminally-good felon make his bail!
