Meet Luca!
Meet Loveable Luca! This sweet and silly young boy was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, epilepsy and a rare genetic disorder. Luca is unable to walk without assistance and is also non-verbal, but uses an eye gaze machine to communicate. When he was about 6 months old, he wasn’t meeting typical baby milestones. A few months later he started having seizures. After, MRIs confirmed he had a rare genetic disorder which was causing the seizures, developmental delays and loss of hearing. He has endured several hospitalizations and surgeries, including a spinal surgery and hip surgery.
Despite the challenges he faces, Luca remains a determined boy! He enjoys watching Sesame Street and Elmo is his favorite. His mom reads him Dr. Suess stories, and he especially enjoys The Cat in the Hat. Luca loves being near water, whether it’s at the beach or a swimming pool. He also loves being outdoors, riding his bike and playing on the swings! Luca is a fantastic kid who never gives up and always keeps a smile on his face!
Luca needs a roll-in shower. His current shower is not adaptable, and it is getting increasingly harder for his parents to bathe him safely as he continues to grow. It is unsafe to lift him in and out of the shower, as he is at an increased risk of being injured. Please consider a sponsorship for Luca’s new shower!
