Meet Abel!

Meet seven-year-old Abel. He was diagnosed with Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis, a neurological disorder that also affects the immune system. He has right-sided muscle weakness and uses a wheelchair and gait trainer for mobility. Abel does not let these hindrances slow him down.

Abel has an array of fun pursuits. His favorite show is The Magic School Bus. In fact, he is a fan of any show or book that features buses. He listens to music of all types. Abel likes any activity that puts him on the go, including exploring the outdoors or being on the floor and throwing things around the house! Abel has a ton of energy and an endless supply of smiles, even when he is sick and should be cranky. Nothing keeps him down! His heart is certainly not disabled. He has the Abelity to inspire us all!

Abel needed an adaptive tricycle to improve his leg strength, balance, and stamina. He will have fun riding around outdoors, too. Thanks to a grant through Greystone Power, we were able to get Abel the trike he needed!
