Meet Aharon!
Meet 12-year-old Aharon, better known by his friends and family as Shaya. Shaya was diagnosed with cerebral palsy as a baby and experiences right side hemiparesis. He also has a seizure disorder and is developmentally delayed. He can walk short distances without assistance, but his mobility is limited.
Shaya is a happy boy who is always smiling and is determined to succeed. He never gives up, even when times get tough. He enjoys spending time outdoors with his siblings, whether it’s riding bikes or chilling in the hammock. Shaya is a fan of the popular children’s show, Cocomelon, and his favorite song is “The Clean Up Song”. Shaya’s parents consider him to be musical, as he seems to pick up on tunes quickly and learns a lot from songs. He can say some words and phrases but is most vocal when it comes to singing!
Shaya received a Rifton therapy bike, thanks to his sponsor Athletes Helping Athletes. He now will have a means of exercise so he can participate in outdoor fun with his siblings. The bike will also increase his leg strength and give him the independence he needs to build his confidence.
