Meet Carlos!
Meet nine-year-old Carlos. He was diagnosed with hypotonia. He is able to walk but with difficulty. His leg coordination, strength and endurance are very low due to his condition. He is also completely deaf. Carlos, however, is a happy child despite his limitations.
Carlos has a few, fun interests. He is a fan of Spiderman and Batman, or anyone who wears his favorite colors red, black, and blue. He has a cool collection of action figures, too. He attends school and his favorite subject is recess, but he also cannot wait to see his sign language teacher. Carlos is determined to learn a unique language, and one word that he always signs is love. He soaks up affection by giving and receiving near-endless amounts of cuddles. If there was ever a sign for inspiration, then it would be the smiling face of Carlos.
This young boy needed an adaptive tricycle to improve his overall leg strength and balance. The exercise will help him to walk. He can have a great time riding the trike outdoors, too. Thanks to a sponsorship through Athletes Helping Athletes, we were able to help Carlos obtain the trike he needed!
