Meet Eddie “Michael”!

Meet 15-year-old Eddie. He was diagnosed with epilepsy and also a genetic disorder known as Hunter syndrome. He struggles to walk or stand and uses a wheelchair for independent mobility. Eddie refuses to allow this limitation to limit his life.

Eddie has fun in many ways. He likes to laugh. His favorite shows and movies are comedies. He especially prefers Tyler Perry films, such as those starring the hilarious character Medea. He is uplifted by listening to Gospel music. He enjoys being outdoors and relaxing with a fishing pole. His favorite place to travel is Dominican Republic. Eddie has other interests, but his personality shines most of all. He is determined to overcome every obstacle that tries to block his path. He is always joyful along the tumultuous road, too. He beats the odds with a smile. He inspires us with his courage.

Eddie received a Rifton adaptive tricycle to promote better leg strength and to help him walk. The trike will even be a terrific way for him to play outside. Eddie will be presented with the trike by the St. Petersburg Knights of Columbus on May 1, 2022 at St. Jude’s Cathedral.  Thank you to the wonderful Knights of Columbus for being generous!
