Dear Potential Felon,

Steve and Julie Weintraub are looking for a few good felons to participate in a fun, interactive fundraiser benefiting Wheelchairs 4 Kids.  Steve and Julie have once again graciously agreed to serve as the honorary chairpersons of our 4th Annual Jail and Bail to be held on May 1st at the award winning Charley’s Steak House in Tampa.  Charley’s will open for lunch exclusively for our event and donate food and beverages for participants.  We are truly humbled to have such wonderful supporters.

We are currently in the process of recruiting high profile Tampa Bay executives and personalities to play a role in the event.  Will your friends and associates bail you out of jail?  Bail is typically set between $3,000 and $5,000.  In the past we have arrested Police Chief Jane Castor, Mayor DIck Greco and several celebrities including members of the WWE, NFL, fitness and political arenas.  If you are not able to attend, we would appreciate it if you would suggest an alternate person to “do a little time”.   We like snitches!

Each year we strive to make it better and this year will be spectacular!   Last year we were able to provide over 40 children with equipment or home and vehicle modifications in large part due to the effort of our felons at this event!  Our goal for this year is to help 50 kids.  We need you to reach our goal and give “our” children the equipment and modifications that they so desperately need.

The Jail and Bail will consist of us “arresting”  prominent citizens in the Tampa Bay area for various charges such as insider trading (retired NFL players using connections to get ahead in Fantasy Football) to impersonating an actor (local business owners/lawyers appearing in commercials).  The sillier the crime, the better!   Of course, your charges and bail are negotiable.  You can even split the bail with a co-conspirator!

On May 1st, you will turn yourself in at Charley’s Steak House  (AKA The Big House) where you will be photographed, issued prison garb, handcuffed and held in our holding cell with all of the other felons.  I understand that the prison guards are notorious for sneaking in food and beverages!  You will then be called to appear before Judge Julie and Judge Steve to answer to your charges. If you have not raised your bail, you will be locked up in our jail for one hour.   Upon meeting your bail, you will be released with great fanfare.

As a jailbird, you will receive several copies of your “Wanted” poster as well as have a page on our website with your personal wanted poster and charges.  You may send your friends to your webpage, where they can make a secure, online donation toward your bail in advance.   We will also design custom e-mail blasts that you may send to your friends and post on social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin.  We strongly advise that you collect the bail in advance.  You never know what will happen in the jail.  A riot may break out and you don’t want to miss the fun!

Many children in the United States faced with living with physical disabilities are in wheelchairs that are too small, in disrepair, or do not fit the needs of the child.  Children outgrow their wheelchairs before government or insurance programs will allow for a replacement.  Not only is it unsafe for a child to be in a chair that is inadequate for their needs, but it can impact their health in numerous ways including scoliosis, respiratory problems and pressure sores.  In addition, families are faced with trying to care for their special needs children in homes that have not been modified to meet their specific circumstances.  Wheelchairs 4 Kids is working hard to address this much neglected need. We hope that you will take a moment to visit our website at www.wheelchairs4kids.org and become a fan of our Facebook page. You’ll be able to follow what we are up to!  You can also see a several videos of our work on our YouTube channel.

Thank you so much for your consideration.  We do hope that you will consider our mission worthy of your support and our kids’ needs deserving of your participation.   If you have any questions, suggestions or comments, please don’t hesitate to contact us at 727-946-0963.  Please let us know of any other potential felons to contact!  Thanks and have a wonderful day!

Sincerely,

 Madeline Robinson
