Meet Alexaly!

Meet 19-year-old Alexaly. Resilient. Strong. Loving. These are the three words that best describe her—a beautiful young woman with an unbreakable spirit and a heart full of light.

Diagnosed with DiGeorge Syndrome shortly after birth, Alexaly has faced countless medical challenges throughout her life. She has gradually lost many of her physical abilities, including her ability to walk and communicate through sign language and facial expressions. Despite it all, her mom says, “You can see her desire to live in her eyes.”

Alexaly can no longer speak, but she tells stories in other ways—through her bright eyes, her love of music, her joy when playing with her dolls, and the way she lights up when surrounded by flowers. Her favorite place is a park full of blooms, where she’ll get up close to a flower and strike a pose, ready for a photo shoot. Pink outfits are non-negotiable—every single day!

Right now, Alexaly’s happiest moments are when she’s using a therapy trike during physical therapy sessions. It’s the one activity that gives her pure joy and a sense of freedom—something her body doesn’t often allow her. We’re hoping to provide her with a trike of her own so she can experience that happiness more often, not just in therapy.

Alexaly’s story is one of courage, endurance, and deep love. She has never given up, and her presence is a powerful reminder of the strength that lives inside a child’s heart.

When Alexaly received her trike, her mom sent us the following letter. There is no better way to describe it!

Two years ago, my young lady’s neurological and emotional state changed a lot. Today, upon receiving this tricycle, we saw her smile again. The tricycle provides her with freedom, entertainment, and exercise. The whole family thanks you for the donation of the tricycle. You have given us the opportunity to see our daughter happy and active again. Mrs. Nina, thank you for being such a kind and beautiful person with us in every call. Today I am grateful and celebrate because Wheelchairs 4 Kids are giving us a new opportunity and thousands of smiles in your name. God bless each one of those involved in this donation. Apply for those things that make your children smile, for what can provide time of joy and happiness together as a family. Two years ago my daughter had a severe neurological and behavioral change. I thought she was giving up for the first time. The donation of this tricycle gave her back her smile, freedom of movement, and moments of sharing with the family knowing that she is exercising while having fun. May God return to you in health what you gave us with love. Thank you.
