Meet Anthony!

Anthony is a bright and loving 12-year-old who truly enjoys going to school. In fact, he loves it so much that he wakes up on his own at 5:30 every morning to get ready for the day! Anthony enjoys spending time with his grandma watching cartoons and even soap operas together. He also has a creative side and loves observing paintings, as well as painting and coloring his own artwork.
When it comes to fun, Anthony enjoys getting out and exploring. Trips to water parks and restaurants are some of his favorite outings, and he especially loves eating tacos and quesadillas. Music is another joy in his life, and one of his favorite songs is Flowers by Miley Cyrus. Anthony also enjoys storybooks and spending quiet time looking through books filled with interesting stories.
Anthony has been diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and is currently 100% dependent for mobility and daily care. He communicates by saying “yes” and “no,” but his family describes him as a ray of light, incredibly smart, and deeply loving. When Anthony was just two months old, his parents noticed he was not progressing like other children, and by his first birthday he received his diagnosis.
A therapy trike would make a wonderful difference for Anthony. According to his physical therapist, a tricycle would help with tone management, strengthen his legs, and challenge his head and trunk control. It would also give Anthony an opportunity to experience mobility outside of his wheelchair, allowing him to enjoy movement and the outdoors in a whole new way.

Thanks to our generous supporters, Anthony now has his very own Rifton therapy trike. This will allow him the opportunity to be outside and ride a bike together with the other kids in his neighborhood. AT the same time, Anthony will be exercising his lower extremities, core muscles and getting in some cardio!. Most importantly, it will give him the opportunity to live one of childhood’s rights of passage: being a kid riding a bike.
