Meet Benjamin!
Meet 14-year-old Benjamin. He was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and a brain development disorder known as Polymicrogyria. He moves around the house using his gait trainer and wheelchair. He is currently learning to transfer himself from one sitting position to another. He has more trials but remains strong.
Benjamin likes many pastimes. He listens to rock music by Maroon 5, Pearl Jam and the Rolling Stones. He is a baseball fan, and his favorite team is the Pittsburg Pirates. He is even the poster child for the team’s charity and has represented them in tv commercials. He is a star member for two adaptive baseball teams. Ben loves gym and skiing, too. Ben’s best quality is his strength of character. He is highly motivated to do everything without help. He laughs at the simplest things. Benjamin is empathic. He can tell when somebody is hurting and will give them a hug. Ben is truly a brilliant superstar who shines the brightest in the darkness.
