Meet Javier: A Boy Full of Joy and Determination
Javier is a bright light in every room he enters. Now 9 years old, he was diagnosed at birth with a rare chromosome 9 partial deletion—but his joyful spirit speaks louder than words ever could. Though non-verbal, Javier’s warm heart, contagious laughter, and zest for life make a lasting impression. He finds pure joy in music (especially Texan beats and Diana Ross!), dancing on the spot whenever the rhythm hits, and giggling at silly cat videos and scenes from his favorite movie, Minions.
He’s a big fan of Spiderman, monster trucks, and balloons—especially balloons, which he loves even more than birthday presents! Javier uses a gait trainer to walk short distances with assistance, but his wheelchair is what gives him the freedom to explore the world around him. Whether he’s splashing at the beach, soaking up the sights from his favorite spot on the school bus, or cuddling with his gentle dogs, Javier approaches each day with boundless enthusiasm.
Now, this amazing and determined little boy needs a new wheelchair to help him keep moving forward. Javier has a new wheelchair that fits him perfectly! This wheelchair is an appropriate size for him after he grew out of his previous wheelchair. Having comfort and security is such a basic need for our kiddos!
