Meet Katerin!
Katerine is a bright and happy 9-year-old whose smile lights up every room she enters. Despite living with spina bifida and hydrocephalus, she radiates positivity and joy. Her mom describes her as happy and smart—qualities that shine through in everything she does. Katerine loves playing with her baby dolls, watching her favorite Disney princesses (especially Princess Sofia!), and spending time at the park, where the swings bring her pure happiness.
At home, Katerine uses a makeshift wheelchair that is far from ideal, and the power chair she uses at school is not fitted for her size or needs. She cannot stand or walk, and her mother must carry her everywhere—a daily challenge that has become increasingly difficult. Despite these obstacles, Katerine’s spirit never wavers. She loves school and absorbs everything she’s taught, eager to learn and grow just like any other child her age.
