Meet Luca!
Luca is a bright, brave 9-year-old who loves learning, laughing, and making others feel special. Diagnosed with muscular dystrophy at age 3, Luca has always faced challenges with strength and mobility—especially when standing up and using stairs—but that has never slowed his incredible spirit. Each year at the start of school, Luca gives a heartfelt speech to his classmates about how he is different and yet the same, inspiring everyone around him with his confidence and kindness.
When he’s not at school, Luca enjoys gaming, watching YouTube and Stranger Things, and listening to all kinds of music—from country to rap and jazz. He’s a huge football fan (Go Packers!), loves math, and enjoys his favorite foods like strawberries and Big Macs. Luca also adores his dog, Saddie, a loyal lab mix who is always by his side, and he loves activities like swimming and boxing that help him stay active and strong.
Luca needs a lightweight power wheelchair to maintain his independence and participate fully in his community. With this wheelchair, he will be able to move more freely at school, enjoy activities with friends, and continue sharing his inspiring message with others.
