Meet Alexander “Xander”!
Xander is a witty, warm-hearted 16-year-old boy who loves adventure. Despite being diagnosed at 7 years old with Duchenne’s Muscular Dystrophy, Xander continues to bring joy to those around him and explore new endeavors.
Xander enjoys watching construction and National Geographic videos on YouTube when he’s not outside configuring his own constructions. He loves to visit Disney World and the LEGO store to buy new LEGO kits to put together at home to add to his collection. He likes the colors blue, green, and orange, and his favorite foods to eat are chicken tenders, French fries, and spaghetti with meatballs.
Xander used his power wheelchair most of the time due to walking instability. His chair does not currently fit into the bathroom, making bathing extremely difficult and tiring not only for him but also for his mother, who is his primary caregiver. A bathroom modification to allow for his wheelchair to fit into the bathroom and a roll-in shower would be life-changing.
