Meet Amelie!
Meet five-year old Amelie. Amelie was born with Rett Syndrome. She is unable to move without assistance. Amelie is nonverbal, communicating through the use of a Tobii Eye Tracker. Amelie struggles with stiffness in her legs and knees, making mobility very difficult for her.
In spite of her limitations, Amelie loves to do many things you might not expect. Her favorite is to dance to any upbeat music Mom puts on. Her Mom calls it, “Making a Moment” Amelie also loves her Therapy Horse – Flirty. She loves to ride and groom, with assistance, often braiding Flirty’s mane. Amelie is also a lover of music. She especially loves her drum set.
