Sixteen-year-old Gavin is a remarkable young man whose strength and spirit shine far brighter than any challenge he faces. Living with hypotonia and peripheral neuropathy, Gavin navigates life with courage and a vibrant personality that can light up any room. His favorite color, orange, is a perfect reflection of his energy and enthusiasm. Whether he’s diving into a game of Minecraft or Pokemon, jamming to Eminem, or stepping up to the plate for the Diamond Backs—a special needs baseball league he proudly plays for—Gavin gives his all with joy and determination.
Gavin dreams big. One of his greatest wishes is to visit theme parks, especially Super Mario World. For Gavin, every opportunity to explore the world is a chance to grow, connect, and experience life to the fullest. While he does have a power wheelchair, its 400-pound weight makes it impossible to transport, limiting his freedom to participate in the things he loves most. The one device that offers him true independence is, unfortunately, the one he can’t take with him.
