Meet Gianna!

Gianna is a joyful little girl who will soon celebrate her second birthday. She has been diagnosed with a developmental disorder of motor function, and her physical therapist describes her as having low muscle tone and difficulty stabilizing herself while standing. Despite these challenges, Gianna is eager to explore her world and connect with the people around her.
Because Gianna was unable to safely stabilize herself in standing, walking independently was not yet possible. A gait trainer would give her the support she needed to practice standing and walking while providing valuable opportunities to move around, interact with others, and participate more fully in everyday activities.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of BayCare, Gianna received a specialized gait trainer—and she is already learning how to self-ambulate! With each step, Gianna is building strength, confidence, and independence. Her new gait trainer is giving her more than the ability to move; it is opening the door to new adventures, new experiences, and more opportunities to be an active part of the world around her.
We are so grateful to BayCare for helping Gianna take these important first steps. Every step forward is a step toward a brighter, more independent future!
