Meet Jacob
Meet twelve-year-old Jacob. Jacob was diagnosed with Friedreich Ataxia. This condition has made it difficult for him to maintain balance. Friedreich Ataxia also causes difficulty in walking, loss of coordination in arms and legs, and gait abnormality. Jacob has recently begun to use a manual wheelchair for longer distances.
Like many twelve-year-old boys, Jacob is an active and interesting kid. On a whim, he entered an art contest with a sketch he called “Under the Sea” and took first place! He collects Jordan Sneakers and plays Fortnite with his brother. Jacob is also a sweet and caring kid. His Mom says he is always putting other people’s feelings and needs above his own, “He just worries about everyone else and puts himself last. Even when he should be thinking about himself; he doesn’t.”
We hear that so much. Little guys like Jacob, dealing with unimaginable struggles. Doing so with grace and humor. Jacob is no exception. “He is hilarious,” says his mom. “Just like me.”
Jacob, funny and full of grace, taking care of everyone else, needs your help.
Jacob needs an Adaptive Trike. It will allow him to strengthen muscle, build coordination, and maintain balance. Please Sponsor him!
