Meet Juan Diego!
Meet fourteen-year-old Juan! Juan is a cheerful and kind-hearted young man whose bright smile can light up any room. At the age of four, he was diagnosed with Dihydrolipoamide Dehydrogenase Deficiency (DLD), a rare genetic metabolic disorder.
Juan enjoys watching Paw Patrol and Encanto, and music is one of his greatest joys. His favorite part of the school day is music time, and he especially loves listening to songs from the Encanto soundtrack and other children’s music. Juan also enjoys visiting local museums and zoos, spending time with his family, watching cartoons, and collecting squishy toys.
As Juan has grown, his current bath chair no longer provides the support and safety he needs. A new bath chair is essential to help prevent aspiration and ensure he can safely and comfortably complete his daily hygiene routine.
