Meet Lyla!

Lyla is an optimistic twelve-year-old girl who remains in good spirits despite the many challenges she faces. After many tests and hospitalizations from three to five years old, Lyla was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy.
Lyla is a courageous child who constantly advocates for those in her community. She has a broad music taste; some of her favorite music artists include Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Nirvana, and My Chemical Romance. Lyla loves to watch musicals like Hamilton and The Greatest Showman; one of her dreams is experiencing a Broadway musical in New York City. Another place she’s hoping to go to is a capybara café because capybaras are her favorite animal. She loves to swim, read manga anime, eat macarons, and attend choir and drama classes.
Lyla received a new power wheelchair that properly fits her, as she has outgrown her current wheelchair. This new power wheelchair will aid in her mobility and independence as she navigates school, her home, and the community. Thank you to Lyla’s sponsors, W. Bradford Ingalls, Lithia 4 Kids, Costco, and MedaHealth for making a life-changing difference for this bright, spirited child’s ability to independently navigate their environment.
