Meet 20-year-old Nakita. She has endured the challenges of cerebral palsy for her entire life. She is cognitively underdeveloped and nonverbal. She also needs assistance for most activities. Nakita has had six surgeries in her life. Her trials continue, but she remains very happy even despite the daily challenges.
Nakita is a fun girl regardless of her obstacles. She enjoys going out and watching people in her environment. She likes listening to stories read by her family. Nakita’s biggest passion, however, is listening to religious music; she finds the spiritual songs uplifting. She was also a student in a specialized school until her graduation last year; her family was tearfully proud of the determined young lady for working so hard. Nakita learned a lot in school, but her brave example gives us the education of a lifetime.
Nakita needs an adaptive life jacket to use during swimming therapy. Please be her sponsor so she can remain healthy and happy!
