Meet Sarah!
Sarah is a delightful 12-year-old girl who was born with Microcephaly, a brain and neural-developmental disorder. Sarah is described as a fun-loving diva who enjoys being as active as possible. She used to play baseball with her three brothers until contracting Transverse Myelitis a couple of years ago. As a result of the Transverse Myelitis, Sarah has paralysis from the waist down and is mostly non-verbal. She is still a sports fan, however, and roots for her favorite teams, the Orlando Magic and Washington Nationals. This determined girl does find other ways to be active with her brothers. They like a little competition engaging in a fast-paced game of air hockey. Furthermore, during squelching summer days, Sarah and her family cool off in a refreshing swimming pool. She also will listen to motivating hip-hop music while spinning with a smile in her wheelchair. Most of all, Sarah loves a hug. She glows with a brilliant energy that people adore and they cannot resist giving her a warm embrace!
Sarah needs an adaptive tricycle to advance her overall health and quality of life. The equipment will help her improve muscle strength, endurance, coordination and mobility. The tricycle will also allow Sarah to spend more time with her family while participating in outdoor activities. Please donate to Sarah, and maybe even send a hug her way.
