Meet Nariska!
Meet 12-year-old Nariska. She was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder known as Rett syndrome, which affects every aspect of the body. Nariska is cognitively challenged and nonverbal. She can sit upright for short periods without assistance. Nariska is also learning how to use a walker. This little girl refuses to let these limitations keep her down.
Nariska has a few activities that are fun throughout her challenging day. She dances and laughs while watching everybody’s favorite dinosaur, Barney. She likes going to school and seeing her friends. Nariska has fun taking walks outside when the weather is perfectly inviting. During these moments and at all times in between, Nariska is a calm child and radiates a sense of peace. People come to her just to feel better about a stressful day. Meet Nariska. She is tranquility in the storm of illness.
