Meet Travis!
Meet Travis, a bright and determined 9-year-old with a smile that lights up the room! Born on Halloween, this little guy brings joy wherever he goes. Travis was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy and Coffin-Lowry syndrome and experiences right-side weakness similar to a stroke. Though he can’t stand or walk independently, he works hard every day on building his strength—his ultimate goal is to walk someday! He’s also deaf and wears dual cochlear implants for short periods of time, while learning sign language to better communicate. Despite these challenges, Travis is full of life, love, and perseverance.
Travis is a busy bee with a packed daily schedule, but his favorite downtime activity is surfing YouTube Kids—he loves the independence and stimulation it gives him. Shows like Handyman Hal, Blippi, and Cowboy Jack are top favorites, and while he’s not much for movies, he’s definitely all about Disney! He also enjoys pop-up books, reading time at school, and outings to places like SeaWorld. His favorite color? Candy apple red—because, as Travis says, “it pops!” Although he’s G-tube fed, he gets to enjoy some “pleasure tastes” like ice cream and ketchup, which always bring a little extra joy to his day.
Travis was adopted at 2 years old, and had little opportunity for stimulation or therapy. Since then, he’s made incredible progress thanks to his unstoppable resilience and the love of his family. Right now, Travis could really benefit from a therapy trike to help improve his mobility, build strength, and give him a fun and motivating way to keep moving. With your support, we can help Travis keep working toward his dream of walking—and keep that beautiful smile shining! ❤️♂️
Thanks to the incredible generosity of the Harvey Najim Foundation, Travis recently received a brand-new Rifton Therapy Trike—a life-changing gift that brings him one step closer to greater independence and strength. This adaptive trike will allow Travis to move on his own, build critical muscle, and feel the thrill of riding just like his peers. It’s more than just a mobility device—it’s a symbol of hope, progress, and possibility. With every pedal, Travis is not just exercising his body, but also his dreams. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank the Harvey Najim Foundation for making this moment possible. Your support is helping Travis shine brighter, dream bigger, and move boldly toward the future he so deserves.
