Meet Leeo!

Meet Leeo! This charming 2-year-old had several complications at birth. He was diagnosed in utero at 37 weeks with a hernia. Once born, his intestines were pushed up to his chest and he was having difficulty breathing. He had to spend several weeks in the NICU and the only way to get nutrients was through a catheter, which was placed in his neck. Unfortunately, this caused his neck to swell and ending up blocking the blood flow to his brain and as a result, Leeo suffered from a stroke. The stroke led to his cerebral palsy diagnosis.

Despite Leeo’s hardships as a baby, he is a sweet and observant little boy. He enjoys watching college football with his family, and their team of choice is Alabama. Leeo also is a big fan of the popular TV show Bluey and the movie Finding Nemo. Leeo’s favorite pastime is simple- he enjoys observing the cars go by and people watching whenever his is out in public. Leeo’s calm personality makes everyone he meets fall in love with him!

Leeo received a Rifton therapy bike. This bike will provide him with a great way to exercise as well as help strengthen his leg muscles. Many thanks to Leeo’s sponsors- Sunshine Health, the Lazar Foundation, RM Baynard, and Margaret Binz.
