Meet Alanna!
Meet 11-year-old Alanna! This bright and bubbly girl was diagnosed with cerebral palsy when she was an infant. Being born prematurely, her mom knew in utero there would be some complications during birth. Alanna also has a seizure disorder, but thanks to medication, it is currently under control. She is unable to walk or bear weight, but she can crawl. She has right side weakness and utilizes a stander and a wheelchair for distance.
Despite Alanna’s struggles, she remains a joyful and loving young lady. She is a fan of the animated show, Bubbleguppies, and loves to watch Pixar’s Turning Red and Universal’s The Minions movies, which always make her laugh! She is thrill seeker and enjoys visiting Universal Studios, but her favorite place to browse through, is Sam’s Club! Being outdoors and listening to music are some of her favorite hobbies, along with playing on her iPad with her little brother. Alanna may be non-verbal, but she is determined to never give up! Her mom describes her as “The Little Engine that Could!”
Alanna is in need of a new medical stroller. Her current wheelchair is big and bulky, and she needs something lightweight that her family can transport and use on different types of terrain. A new stroller will not only fit her medical needs, but will also give her more opportunities to go outdoors and explore the world! Please consider being Alanna’s sponsor!
