Meet 14-year-old Alejandro! Alejandro was diagnosed with NGLY1 Deficiency, a rare congenital disorder that affects his spine and causes weakness in his arms and legs, impacting his balance. Despite these challenges, Alejandro remains a happy, active, and inspiring young man.
He has many interests—he’s a huge Monster Truck fan, loves watching soccer with his dad and cheering on their favorite team, and especially enjoys swimming at his local pool. Alejandro is known for his peaceful and joyful spirit. Though he is quiet and often prefers his own world, he inspires everyone around him and makes our world a brighter place.
Alejandro’s parents reached out to Wheelchairs 4 Kids for assistance in getting an Adaptive Therapy Tricycle one that will allow him to continue his physical therapy at home while giving him the chance to join family bike rides and play alongside his peers—bringing both progress and joy. Thanks to the Don and Lorraine Freeberg Foundation, Alejandro has received his therapy tricycle.
