Meet Alirio “Efrain”
Meet 11-year-old Alirio, better know by friends and family as Efrain. Efrain is a sweet boy with a complex medical history. At age 4, he was found abandoned lying in a box in Venezuela and was malnourished. The amount of time he had been left there alone is unclear, but his now adopted parents, who are Christian pastors, took him to the hospital, where they discovered he had neurological damage. While he can walk with assistance, he still has many struggles.
Despite his challenges, Efrain remains a strong and happy young man. He has overcome the odds and manages to stay optimistic. He enjoys watching Spanish cartoon shows and listening to Christian worship music. Efrain has a collection of buses and toy cars that he likes to play with in his spare time.
Efrain received a Rifton therapy bike. This bike will increase his muscle tone while also providing him a fun form of exercise. Special thanks to Tim Hines of the Morris & Hines Family Fund for being his generous sponsor!
