Meet 16-year-old Amos. He was diagnosed with Dopamine Transporter Deficiency Syndrome (DTDS), a rare and progressive movement disorder that causes worsening dystonia and Parkinsonism. Amos is wheelchair-bound and fully dependent on his family for all of his daily needs. Despite these challenges, he remains a joyful and resilient young man.

Amos has a variety of interests. He loves listening to church hymns and hearing his favorite books, The Brady Street Boys, read aloud. He’s especially fond of History class and has a bright and curious mind. More than anything, Amos treasures time with his family. He is known for his gentle spirit and kind heart, and he finds peace in spending time outdoors, taking in the beauty of nature. Though he is quiet and often stays in his own world, Amos inspires everyone around him and makes our world a better, more compassionate place.

Right now, Amos’s greatest need is a proper wheelchair—one that will provide him with improved comfort and allow him to better participate in family activities and outings. With your support, we can help bring more ease and joy to the life of this remarkable young man and his devoted family.
