Meet Antonio!
Meet 9-year-old Antonio. Antonio was diagnosed as a baby with both cerebral palsy and hydrocephalus. He had to have a VP shunt inserted to help drain the extra fluid in his brain when he was only a few months old. Antonio is fully dependent on others for all daily living activities and has been using a wheelchair since he was five years old.
Antonio remains a sweet and loving boy despite his challenges. He enjoys visiting his local adaptive park so he can enjoy the fresh air while swinging on the swings. He is a fan of children’s music from the popular show Cocomelon. Antonio likes to play with toys that light up and make noise to heighten his senses. Most importantly, Antonio is a fighter. He has overcome so much in his short life, and he lives every day to the fullest!
Antonio received a new manual wheelchair from Custom Mobility at our 10th Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament. Football star Rob Gronkowski was there to present him with the new chair! He has outgrown his current chair. This new chair will help provide him with the comfort and safety he requires. Special thanks to the St. Pete Queen of Hearts for their sponsorship!
